And thus after days of troubling unrest and reflection, I have come upon the following paradox:

1) In order to do something to the best of my abilities, I must devote all of my time and energy.
2) In order to do something to the best of my abilities, I must not compromise for the sake of profit.
3) In order to devote all of my time and energy, and without compromise for profit, I need money.

Therefore it is impossible for me to do as good a job as I wish. I can either choose to spend less time/energy on it and work for money, ie maintain my activity as a hobby

or

I can opt to make a business out of my activity, but then accept that I will need to compromise for the sake of profits, just to keep the doors open and the lights on.
