Description

If you are brand new to firearms, and you are interested in learning the right way, the safe way, from the beginning, this is the appropriate class for you.

If you have some experience handling firearms, but never had a comprehensive overview of Use of Force doctrine, and you need to fill gaps in your foundation of knowledge regarding firearms, conflict, and self defense in order to succeed in more advanced training, then this is the class for you.

If you are aspiring to teach others how to use firearms, and you wish to learn about teaching methodology and watch an experienced orator present before students, this is the class for you.

Ask detailed questions, learn, explore, and play with all the show and tell things we’re preparing for you. You don’t need any equipment.

***Change as of November 1st, 2023***

Firearm Safety Class will now be offered in two parts, each 6 hours long, from 9am to 3pm. In the winter months, the sun sets at 5pm, and in my experience students don’t learn very well when cold, wet, and tired. Instead, our class will end with enough time for you to drive home while there is still daylight, since over the past several years this has been a consistent request from beginner students who may not be very experienced at driving mountain roads. This format gives you plenty of time to learn and digest the material, and we will meet on a different day to finish part 2 of your class, which includes the bulk of the live fire practice.

Current options for Part 2 of your Firearm Safety Class are:

11/24 9am to 3pm
11/26 9am to 3pm
12/3 9am to 3pm

You agree that if you shoot, you will stay to clean up.

The class ends when we debrief, not when you you decide you want to go home. If you do not plan to attend the entirety of the class, don’t sign up. If you choose to leave prior to the completion of class, you do so on your own volition, and are neither offered nor owed a refund.

Firearms and ammunition are provided. Students will typically learn about and handle a huge variety of different weapons, such as:

AR15
Ak47
M1A
Mini14
MP5
Glock 17
Smith and Wesson Shield
Walther PPK
1911
Snub nose revolver
.357 magnum revolver
12 gauge shotgun
20 gauge shotgun
Semi automatic shotgun
Bolt action rifle

The role of weapons in society
Why do good people have “weapons of war”

We offer the Firearm Safety program as often as feasible to meet anticipated demand. Currently we offer the class roughly every month. Typical class sizes are about 20 students.

During the winter months it can be very cold, so bring warm clothes. In the summer months it is very hot, so stay in the shade and drink water. During spring and fall the weather is perfect.

If you wish to reschedule a class, you must email info@monarchdefense.org no later than 1 hour prior to class start, and you will then be credited with the value of your course, which you can gift to someone else or use for any future class within 1 year.
