Self Defense Theory 10JAN26

January 10, 2026 @ 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm
$20.70

Over the years, the most frequent requests for training have been how to protect the family in the event of a burglary or home invasion. In this class, we seek to understand how criminals think, how break-ins and burglaries happen, and how best to defend yourself with a firearm in the confines of the urban space. Through partnership with the wonderful folks at MPT, we are now able to offer affordable, local education to new firearm owners to answer your most important questions!

This is a free class, with a non refundable facility rental fee. Hurry to sign up and secure your seat in the class. Space is limited, so if we sell out, email admin@monarchdefense.org to be added to the waiting list. Remember to email us if you change your mind or if you can’t come, so we can give your seat to someone else.

Let’s face it. If self defense was easy, you could just watch a few videos, and “figure it out” by yourself. Good people go to jail every day, because they don’t know what they are doing. Good people become victims of crime every day, because they don’t know what they are doing. Good people get hurt every day because they don’t know what they are doing. The study of firearms and self defense is a complex mixture of history, science, psychology, and physical skill. Weapons are not toys, and if used improperly can result in serious safety and legal consequences.

This class is designed to provide beginners with a solid introduction to the attitude, skill, and knowledge you need to succeed in firearm ownership.

My name is Brian Wang. I have been teaching firearm safety, self defense, and the combat use of firearms for 11 years professionally.  I have been a teacher since 2006. I have trained kung fu since 2007. I completed sniper school in 2010. I have been licensed to carry a concealed weapon since 2013. I have traveled the country to learn from the best mentors and take the best instructor certification programs available. I have been to war and watched friends die. I have survived a guided missile, helicopter rockets, artillery bombardment, aviation bombs, strafing by infantry fighting vehicle cannon, and disease. I have been the victim of burglary, arson, unlawful arrest, and domestic violence. I have eaten bologna sandwiches in jail, and won in court. I am a father and a husband and a small business owner. I have taught over 10,000 students in Florida, Texas, Arizona, Arkansas, Nevada, Ukraine, and California. I own and operate at 300 acre dedicated tactical training facility only 1 hour from the bay area. It is my honor to be your instructor, and to bring you all of this knowledge for free.

I have striven to design a thorough hands on learning experience, with the most detail in the shortest time possible. Expect 50% of your training to be lecture and discussion, and 50% to be hands on with guns, shooting, and moving. You will handle and learn about a variety of modern firearms, including pistols, revolvers, carbines, and shotguns.
