Description

The Shooting Range Experience is a fast paced, hands on class that will allow beginners a chance to experience shooting many real guns with live ammo in a safe and controlled environment, to gain exposure to a broad range of firearms and calibers, and work with professional instructors on a plethora of questions and discussion topics relating to firearm ownership, self defense, and tactical training. If you are willing to pay 110% attention to safety instructions, then you can look forward to a fun and educational way to spend a day outdoors, and learn about and shoot a wide variety of firearms!

By design, this class is the live fire continuation of “Firearm Safety and Self Defense”. We recommend that students start there first.

Typically, students can expect to handle and fire these or similar weapons. During these unprecedented times, we may experience shortages of ammunition of certain types. Please understand that the market forces controlling ammunition availability are beyond our control, and we will do our best to source ammunition for you to learn with.

Location:

Our facility is located in the Diablo Range, one hour and thirty minutes east of downtown San Jose, and one hour and thirty minutes south of Livermore. No, we are not in San Jose city limits; Yes, San Jose is the nearest city. No matter which direction you come from, there will be roughly 1 hour of fairly technical and winding mountain roads for you to navigate. Suck it up buttercup. Not willing to make the drive? Try golf instead.

We will email out detailed driving directions and GPS coordinates before the class to those who sign up.

Prerequisites:
You may join the Shooting Range Experience after you have completed “Firearm Safety and Self Defense”, or the equivalent “Interim Introduction to Armed Self Defense”.

If you have previous experience and would like to skip the prerequisite class, then take the following test. If you can correctly accomplish all three tasks above without hesitation, skip the prerequisite course, and proceed to register for The Shooting Range Experience. If not, then sign up for Firearm Safety and Self Defense:

  1. Articulate for me me concisely the legal, moral, and social paradigm of self defense, to include exactly under what circumstances you are reasonable in drawing your weapon, pointing it at a person, and shooting someone.
  2. Explain to me exactly what the statistical mortality rate is for handgun wounds in the United States, how rifles and shotguns produce substantially different wounds, and what organ systems specifically within the human body you need to destroy to cause your opponent to cease hostile activity within 3 seconds.
  3. Demonstrate for me without hesitation or error how to unload and show clear any double action revolver, single action pistol, double action pistol, striker fired pistol, semi automatic rifle, or pump action shotgun.

Required Equipment:
Water, snacks, sun screen, rain coat, hat, closed toe shoes, eye and ear protection. Dress for outdoor activity (we hold class rain or shine). You may bring and shoot your person firearm if you wish.

Price Breakdown:
Tuition for this class is $75 per person. Since we have now purchased our own facility, the previous facility fee of $20 per person will be waived. Ammunition is normally $30 per person for this program, but due to massive increases in demand in our country since Covid, rioting, and the election, costs have gone up and availability has gone down. Hence, ammo cost is $70 per person. Sorry, it’s the best we can do at this time. Total cost for the class is $145 per person, all guns, ammo, and targets included.

FAQ:

Can I bring my own gun to shoot?
Yes. Bring your own ammo.

Can I take pictures?
Yes.

What is the age limit for this class?
We do not have a set age limit for this class, but typically puberty is a suitable starting age for youths to learn firearm safety. A parent or legal guardian, must accompany all minors.

If I have a 3rd party promotional voucher, how do I sign up?
If you have purchased a 3rd party promotional voucher, then please email a copy of your barcode to admin@monarchdefense.org. This will cover your tuition costs, then please submit $70 per person via paypal to info@monarchdefense.org for consumables.

We redeem your voucher when you schedule, rather than when you attend class. This is for 3 reasons: it reduces administrative burden and wasted time on the day of class, it discourages customers from no-showing, and allows you to gain the full value of your voucher before it expires, even if your class is past the promotions expiration date.

What is the refund policy?
Starting 1/1/2020 our new refund policy is to offer you full credit towards a rescheduled class as long as you give us notice by email to info@monarchdefense.org up to 1 hour before class starts. You will have 1 calendar year to use your tuition credit.

How can I contact the organizer with my questions?
Brian Wang is the event organizer. He can be reached at 408-892-5460 or info@monarchdefense.org
