Description
Study groups are cost effective, flexible, casual, and high quality opportunities to train in an intimate small group environment with your instructor, and fellow students of a variety of skill levels. Study Groups are a hybrid between private custom training, which can be prohibitively expensive, and open enrollment group classes, which can be busy and chaotic and at inconvenient times. If you have scheduling flexibility and you want to train in a semi-private and more intimate manner for a wide variety of topics, consider joining our new Study Group program.
To join, please submit $.01 using the online checkout on this page, and contact Brian at info@monarchdefense.org for questions.
Time:
5 pm to 10pm or whenever we finish
Location:
Valley of Orion. 9 miles east of Mt. Hamilton, and in the vicinity of San Antonio Valley. 1.5 miles east of SJC, 1 hour south from Livermore. Detail directions will be emailed to those who sign up.
Overview:
Meet down on the range, make yourself comfortable, meet the other students and prepare your equipment. If you need to borrow gear, we will issue it out. We’ll go around for introductions, and lay out a purpose and scope for the day’s training, then stretch and begin.
In this class we’ll give all the students an orientation on modern night vision equipment, the science of human vision and artificial light amplification. You will get a chance to experience, explore, and practice with a few examples of thermal and night vision equipment, lasers, lights etc. You’re welcome to bring your own equipment, and we will have a few items for you to use if you don’t have any of your own.
Plan to go for a night hike, and we can do a little shooting under ambient conditions, as well as white light, and night vision conditions. If you have a laser and would like to zero it, we can certainly go through that exercise together.
Expect to help set up and clean up. If you are interested in camping overnight to prepare for Dynamic Drills Day the next morning, you are welcome.
When the group gets hungry, we’ll break for food. When the group is tired and happy, we’ll call it a day. Very simple, very flexible, very casual. This is a mixed skill level semi-private class. Expect the class size to be 3-6 students.
Prerequisites:
You must be experienced in handling firearms in a safe manner. My recommendation would be at least at the level of Fighting Rifle Skill builder.
Required Equipment:
Water, snacks, sun screen, closed toe shoes, eye and ear protection. Dress for outdoor activity (we hold class rain or shine). You may bring and shoot your personal firearms if you wish, or I can supply one for you free of charge. I will have extra ammunition to share with you if you need it. Contact Brian for details at info@monarchdefense.org.
This type of training is very specific on your equipment and rifle setup. Lights, lasers, illuminators, night amplifications devices, and thermal imaging cameras are all very expensive. If you don’t have your own, don’t worry, you can use ours.
Cost:
As with all study group classes, this class is funded by donation. Tuition is flexible, but the class is not free. For a small class this size, with access to our private facility and equipment, a suitable payment is in the range of $100 to $300 per person. Cash, check, Venmo, PayPal, Google Pay, etc. are all accepted. There is no additional facility fee. All ammo is separate, and at market rate.
FAQ:
