Description
As the name implies, this accelerated course will strive to pack 2 days worth of learning into one day. I’m actually not sure you can do it successfully, given the limits of how fast or how slow a human can learn, so this is a pilot scale class to test this curriculum and flow. Are you smart and bold? Help the school by being a curriculum beta tester!
This course is designed for folks who are fast learners and are willing to put in the additional effort to maximize their learning, and for those who already have some experience and are seeking a fast paced refresher.
An accelerated pace class is not for the faint of heart. Make sure you have everything on the packing list, that you are well rested and hydrated, and that you are caring for your body by stretching and exercising regularly.
You will likely not be able to retain all of the material, so diligent note taking will be very important to increase your learning productivity. This way you can refer back to your notes at home as you process what you’ve learned.
Much of our training will be conducted in the dark. Embrace it.
During the summer you will be dusty and hot. During the winter you will be cold and wet. Embrace it.
Prerequisite:
Firearm Safety Class highly recommended
Introduction to Home Defense highly recommended
Price:
Class sizes for accelerated courses are very small, giving maximum efficiency and hands on time with your instructor. As a consequence of this, the price of accelerated classes is higher than other bigger or longer classes.
Recommended tuition is $250, or anything between $175 and $350 per person.
Ammo for this class is separate from tuition. If you need ammunition, we keep most common calibers on hand for your convenience. There is no charge to borrow weapons and gear.
Time:
This class is designed to take 20 hours, having said that, we’re going to squeeze it into 12 hours. Normally, a class can only progress at the students’ pace, but in an accelerated course, the class will progress at the instructor’s pace, and if you can’t keep up… oh well.
I expect that you commit your entire day to this training, that you show up early, and that you stay till the end to debrief and clean up. In order to maximize our training day, we need to start by 9am at the latest. Plan to arrive no later than 8:30am if you are borrowing gear, 8:45am otherwise.
