DESCRIPTION:Welcome to Monarch Defense’s Firearm Safety Class. This is a pro bono community service project led by myself\, Brian Wang\, and assisted by many donors and volunteers each month who have helped to make this program a lasting success. Over the last 12 years of teaching professionally\, I have striven to design a thorough hands on learning experience which answers all of the questions that you need to know to get started\, especially with regards to experiential knowledge that you must learn by doing and can’t just find online. This program exists to prepare you for a successful future in protecting yourself\, so that you can make wise decisions regarding buying\, learning\, carrying\, and using firearms. \nLearn:  \nSafe firearm handling procedures\nFirearm disassembly\, cleaning\, and reassembly\nRole of weapons in society \nHow to load\, unload\, stand\, hold\, aim\, and fire pistols\, revolvers\, rifles\, and shotguns.\nExperience first hand the recoil\, weight\, noise\, ease or difficulty of use\, and accuracy of different firearms \nShooting range commands and procedures\nUnderstanding ammunition\nChoosing a firearm for self defense \nPrerequisites: \nNone \nSpecial Policy Regarding Minors:  \nMonarch Defense welcomes youngsters to our firearm safety program\, and we will donate both tuition and ammunition for their learning. It is completely free to bring your teens or children to class. We leave it up to parents and guardians to decide at what age your child is ready to learn. Parent or guardian must be in the class with minors under 18. Parent or guardian must fill out liability waiver on child’s behalf. \nLocation: \nOur facility is in the mountains 1 hour east from San Jose\, or 1 hour south from Livermore. If you are an unskilled or inexperienced driver\, give yourself 2 hours to make the drive from most cities of the bay area. We will email detailed driving instructions to those who sign up. \nCancellations: \nIf you do not plan to attend\, notify us immediately so that we can give your spot in class to another student. If you register for a class then no-show\, you will be charged a $50 Pain In the Ass fee. We do not issue refunds. Questions? DESCRIPTION:This event is for those who have experience and would like to use our private range for unsupervised\, non-instructional practice. Learn about our facility\, how to set it up and use it safely\, clean up procedures\, scheduling procedures\, safety policies\, and do some shooting. Bring your weapons\, such as rifle\, pistol\, carbine\, shotgun\, etc. and the equipment you plan to train with. Bring ammunition and a bag lunch. Everyone\, including spectators must fill out a liability waiver. The price to use the range is $75 per person or $37.50 for active and former military. Current Monarch Defense students practice for free. \nThere are two goals during this event. The first is that you understand what our facilities can offer you and the culture of our organization. With this information you can decide if you wish to become a regular customer at our range. The second goal is for us to see how you interact with others and how you handle live weapons. Then we can decide if we wish to invite you to become a regular customer at our facility. We are not a public facility. We do not plan to\, nor do we wish to serve everyone. We serve a select group of individuals who are safe\, who communicate well\, who are respectful\, who are technically competent\, and above all else\, who have common sense. Plan to do your orientation in the morning\, then stay to shoot until 5pm. Everything is a graded event. \nOur one of a kind tactical training facility offers: \n300 acres of privacy\n25 meter pistol range with props\, barricades\, shoothouse with 16″ thick bullet proof partitions\, and 800 foot tall backstop.\n100 meter carbine range with shade\, parking\, tables\, lights\, steel targets\, cardboard targets.\n200-800 meter steel target rifle range with shade\, parking\, and tables\n400-1200 meter sniper practice area with steel targets\, natural terrain\, vegetation\, tailwinds\, and crosswinds\n140 acre area for hiking\, camping\, hunting\, fishing\, recreation\, and maneuver training\nHolster draw\, rapid fire\, shooting and moving\, night shooting\nHelicopter landing area\nClean filtered spring water\nFlushing toilets\, sinks\, hot shower\nDeathly hot summers\, freezing cold winters\, perfect pumpkin spice fall weather\nFree firewood for bonfire\, bbq\, and camping\nMuddy when it rains\, choking moon dust when it doesn’t\nCrappy Wi-Fi\nGrumpy range owner \nPrerequisite: \nSafe firearms handling experience \nLocation:\n \nOur facility is in the mountains 1 hour east of San Jose\, 1 hour south from Livermore.
