SUMMARY:First Aid for Providers and Protectors 14MAR25
DESCRIPTION:Over the years\, I have seen a great demand for down to earth\, real\, hands on first aid training. Other classes available\, such as American Red Cross First Aid/CPR\, are either so dumbed down as to be functionally useless\, or they are too costly in terms of time or prerequisite medical knowledge making it difficult for laypersons to attend. In this program we strive to strike a balance to give the most useful scenarios and skills so that you can confidently protect your family and community. \nWe will begin with an understanding of the body systems that keep us alive: the heart\, the lungs\, the brain\, the bones\, the skin\, etc. Then we will look at a wide variety of common injuries\, and learn quick and simple ways to treat them during that critical time before professional help arrives. \nLearn: \nHypothermia\nDehydration\, and heat exhaustion\nSprains\nBroken bones\nEyes injuries\nBurns\nCuts\, scrapes\, and lacerations\nGunshot wounds and stabbings\nPeanut\, bee-sting\, and other allergies\nSnake and dog bites\nChoking\nDrowning\nHeart Attack\nConcussion and head injuries\nOpiate overdose\nAlcohol poisoning\nDiabetic emergency\nBandaging and cleaning wounds\nPicking up and moving people\nAssembling a first aid kit\nHow to communicate with the 911 dispatcher \nYour instructor’s name is Jason\, a loyal husband and warrior; He is a veteran US Army medic\, 13 year firefighter-EMT\, and tactical medicine instructor for Ukraine armed forces. He brings in tremendous experience from both the battlefield and the civilian world. He previously visited Monarch Defense as a guest instructor in the late summer of 2022\, for a seminar called “Lessons from Bakhmut”\, after he and I had just returned from the front lines of Ukraine. Jason provided training to the soldiers\, worked in field hospitals to save lives\, and stood shoulder to shoulder with the brave defenders despite constant artillery\, mortars\, tanks\, helicopters\, missiles\, and other attacks. It is my honor to bring you this valuable opportunity to learn from such a humble and experienced teacher. \nMy name is Brian Wang. I have been teaching firearm safety\, self defense\, and the combat use of firearms for 11 years professionally.  I have been a teacher since 2006. I have trained kung fu since 2007. I completed sniper school in 2010. I have been licensed to carry a concealed weapon since 2013. I have traveled the country to learn from the best mentors and take the best instructor certification programs available. I have been to war and watched friends die. I have survived a cruise missile attack\, helicopter rocket attack\, artillery shelling\, aerial bombing\, strafing by infantry fighting vehicle 30mm auto cannon\, and disease on the front lines. I have been the victim of burglary\, arson\, unlawful arrest\, and domestic violence. I have eaten bologna sandwiches in jail\, and won in court. I am a father and a husband and a small business owner. I have taught over 10\,000 students in Florida\, Texas\, Arizona\, Arkansas\, Nevada\, Ukraine\, and California. I own and operate at 300 acre dedicated tactical training facility only 1 hour from the bay area. It is my honor to be your instructor\, and to bring you new exciting and in depth training opportunities every week. \nTogether Jason and I have striven to design a thorough hands on learning experience\, with the most detail in the shortest time possible. Expect 50% of your class to be lecture and discussion\, and 50% to be hands on practice with tourniquets\, bandages\, chest seals\, epi-pens\, improvised litters (for carrying people)\, Narcan\, splints\, hemostatic dressings\, gauze\, nasal pharyngeal airways\, Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs). You will handle and learn about a variety of first aid equipment\, and learn how to build your own kits. \nLocation: \nThis class is taught at MPT\, a gun shop. The address is 1331 Jacklin Rd\, Milpitas\, CA 95035. \nSchedule: \nWe meet at 9am. If you have to come in a bit late\, don’t worry\, just come when you can. If you can’t come\, please do email admin@monarchdefense.org to let us know so we can give your ticket to someone else\, since space is limited. We will end formally at 6pm\, with a break for lunch\, and staff will remain on site after class if you want to ask additional questions. \nPrerequisites: \nNone \nRequired Equipment:  \nNotebook and writing utensil\nLunch and snacks\nWater\nYour first aid kit\, if you have one\nDress comfortably for indoor activity. \nCancellations: \nWe do not offer refunds for discretionary cancellations. If you wish to reschedule a class\, you must email info@monarchdefense.org no later than 1 hour prior to class start\, and you will then be credited with the value of your course\, which you can gift to someone else or use for any future class within 1 year. \nQuestions? Call Brian at 408-892-5460 or email info@monarchdefense.org.
