Those who have much to lose and much to protect, those who are peaceful by nature but recognize the certainty of human conflict, and the necessity for good people to use violence to protect against evil, come and learn. You are welcome here.

This is an introductory level class covering the ownership and use of a firearm to protect yourself and your loved ones in a home or business. It is a primer to the attitudes, assumptions, and skills you may need in time of violent crisis. It is an affordable, safe, and gently paced opportunity for the new shooter to learn, ask questions, and make mistakes in a guided and safe environment free from prejudice and elitism.

We will discuss and train on these topics:

The role of the personal firearm in modern society

Understanding human conflict

Defining the legal and moral framework of self-defense

Introduction to the modern pistol, revolver, rifle, and shotgun

Universal principles of gun safety

Safe procedures for loading, unloading, and storage

Choosing an appropriate gun for your needs

The process of purchasing your first firearm explained

Optional: California state Firearm Safety Certificate test, provided by our host facility

The path to continuing education

Packing List:

Note taking material, pen and paper

Water, snacks and bag lunch

Dress comfortably for indoor activity

Clear eye protection. Prescription glasses are acceptable. Eye protection may be purchased on site from the host facility.

Optional: Your personal pistol, revolver, rifle, or shotgun
